FrogABCs teaches children the English alphabet as they have fun helping the frog catch a fly. It teaches both upper and lowercase letters using warm, colorful graphics that are presented at a pace appropriate for children ages 3-6. Video prizes accompany successful learning and there are in-game progress reports provided for parents. This is the first of five games developed over the past 15 years by researchers at San Diego State University working with preschool and kindergarten teachers. Their purpose is to teach pre-literacy and pre-math skills that will enhance kindergarten readiness. In addition to letter recognition, separate games address counting, phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and rhyming, all of which have been tested in more than 3000 children at home and in the classroom. The other games are currently being developed as IOS apps.
